Smedmore House, Georgian manor house in Kimmeridge, England.
Smedmore House is a stone-built Georgian manor in the coastal village of Kimmeridge, Dorset. The main building contains eight bedrooms with three additional rooms in a separate Garden Wing, spread across multiple living spaces.
The original building was constructed in 1610 and received Georgian architectural additions in 1762. The Clavell family maintained strong connections to the property from its early days.
The interior contains Dutch furniture inherited through descendants connected to the court of William III. These furnishings reflect the family's historical ties to that period.
The house is available as a rental for holidays, weddings, and corporate events with capacity for up to 24 guests. Being set in a rural coastal location, it is best accessed by car.
Two stone-lined paths cut through woodland to reach viewing points with unobstructed views toward Kimmeridge Bay. These secluded spots provide direct sight lines across the coastal landscape.
