Westhall Castle

Westhall Castle is a three-story fortified residence near Oyne with harled walls and a distinctive L-shaped plan featuring a round tower at its southeast corner. The building incorporates design elements from multiple centuries that shaped its development.

The property originated in medieval times under the Bishops of Aberdeen before passing to the Gordon family during the Reformation in the 1500s. Its ownership changed again in 1681 when Reverend James Horne acquired it, marking a shift in the building's purpose and use.
