Grymes Hill, Staten Island, Residential neighborhood and hill in Staten Island, United States
Grymes Hill rises 374 feet above sea level, featuring serpentine rock formations and extensive tree cover across its 0.894 square miles of terrain.
The area received its name from Suzette Bosque Grymes, who settled there in 1836 after marrying John R. Grymes, the first governor of Louisiana.
Wagner College and St. John's University Staten Island campus occupy prominent positions on the hill, forming centers of higher education and student life.
The neighborhood connects to Manhattan through express bus services, while local streets including Victory Boulevard and Richmond Road define its boundaries.
From its elevation of 310 feet near Wagner College's football field, the hill provides direct views of Lower New York Bay and the Manhattan skyline.
