Mister C's, Italian restaurant in North Omaha, Nebraska.
Mister C's was an Italian restaurant in North Omaha, Nebraska, serving pasta, steaks, and other classic dishes. The place had several dining rooms and an outdoor courtyard with decorative lighting available to guests.
Sebastiano Caniglia opened the place in 1953 as Caniglia's Royal Boy Drive-in, taking over a former fast-food spot near Fort Omaha. Over the years it grew into one of the area's best-known restaurants before closing in 2007.
The Caniglia family brought their cooking traditions from Carlentini, a town near Syracuse in Sicily, to Omaha. Those roots showed in the recipes passed down through generations and formed the heart of the menu.
The restaurant was on North 30th Street in Omaha and has been closed since 2007, so a visit is no longer possible. Anyone curious about the place can find photos and accounts online that give a good sense of what it was like.
The restaurant also sold its pasta sauce and salad dressing as retail products, letting guests bring the taste of the place home. Those products were sold across the region and are now sought-after items among former regulars.
