Levi Carter Park

Levi Carter Park extends across 520 acres of green space alongside Carter Lake, featuring baseball fields, pavilions, and natural landscapes with abundant trees.

The park originated in 1908 when Levi Carter's widow donated 1 million dollars to transform the former Missouri River bank into a public recreation space.

The Stone Soul Picnic has gathered local communities at Levi Carter Park since the 1990s for outdoor celebrations and social connections.

The park facilities include fourteen picnic tables, outdoor grills, portable restrooms, and three separate rooms in the pavilion for gatherings up to 140 people.

From 1949 to 1959, the park contained Carter Lake Pleasure Pier with a Kiddieland section that offered pony rides, a ferris wheel, and a miniature train.
