Owings Mills Mall, Shopping center in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Owings Mills Mall was a shopping center in Maryland featuring more than 150 stores and restaurants spread across multiple levels. The interior contained marble floors and large glass ceilings that created open spaces throughout the complex.
The shopping center opened in 1986 and operated as a major retail destination for three decades. It closed in 2015 as retail patterns shifted and customer traffic declined over time.
The center served as a gathering spot where residents of Baltimore County came together for shopping and community events. It functioned as a social hub where people spent time beyond just making purchases.
The location was near Owings Mills Metro Station, making public transit access convenient for visitors. Extensive parking and multiple bus routes provided flexible options for getting to the shopping center.
After closing, the entire building was demolished in 2017 to make room for a new development on the site. The land was transformed into Mill Station, an outdoor retail space centered around large retail anchors.
