Stephens State Park

Stephens State Park is a state park in New Jersey where the Musconetcong River winds through the landscape for nearly a mile. The park includes hiking trails, fishing access, kayaking opportunities, and picnic areas along the water.

The area was shaped by the Morris Canal system in the early 1900s, which was crucial for regional trade and transportation. A dam and lock structure remain today as reminders of this important connection to the region's past.

The Highlands Trail crosses the grounds for two miles and displays different rock formations and soil types along the route. Hikers get a close look at the geological variety found in the region.
