Palmer House a Hilton Hotel is a luxury property with 1641 rooms in The Loop neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The sprawling entrance hall displays marble columns, ceiling frescoes, and bronze chandeliers that transform the reception area into a hall where historical architecture meets modern hotel facilities.

The original hotel building opened its doors in 1871 and burned down a few days later in the Great Chicago Fire. The owner Potter Palmer signed a loan and had the building reconstructed immediately, so it opened in 1875 as one of the first fireproof structures in the city.

The entrance staircase leads to a hall with high ceilings, where hotel guests and visitors pass under gilded details. During the first half of the 20th century, Chicago residents gathered there for concerts and formal evenings that shaped the social life of the city.

The building offers several restaurants, a spa, and direct access to the Red and Blue transit lines. Visitors can freely enter and look around the lobby even without booking a room.

The hotel kitchen created the chocolate brownie in 1893 as a handheld cake for visitors to the World's Fair in Chicago. The recipe is still on the menu today, and guests can try the same dessert that was invented more than 130 years ago.
