Palmer House a Hilton Hotel is a luxury property with 1641 rooms in The Loop neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The sprawling entrance hall displays marble columns, ceiling frescoes, and bronze chandeliers that transform the reception area into a hall where historical architecture meets modern hotel facilities.
The original hotel building opened its doors in 1871 and burned down a few days later in the Great Chicago Fire. The owner Potter Palmer signed a loan and had the building reconstructed immediately, so it opened in 1875 as one of the first fireproof structures in the city.
The entrance staircase leads to a hall with high ceilings, where hotel guests and visitors pass under gilded details. During the first half of the 20th century, Chicago residents gathered there for concerts and formal evenings that shaped the social life of the city.
