World's End, Peninsula in Hingham, United States.
The 251-acre World's End contains four drumlins, including Pine Hill and Planter's Hill, with tree groves and fields attracting grassland birds.
Frederick Law Olmsted designed World's End for residential development in 1889, but the planned houses were never constructed on this coastal land.
The peninsula integrates into the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area while maintaining its natural character through conservation efforts.
Visitors can access 4.5 miles of walking paths with entrance fees of 8 dollars on weekends and 6 dollars on weekdays.
The site was considered for both the United Nations headquarters and a nuclear power plant before becoming a protected natural area.
