Hasty Pudding Club, Social club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, US

The Hasty Pudding Club sits in a red brick building at 45 Dunster Street, showing traditional New England architectural features with multiple gathering rooms. The house spans several floors and provides spaces for social activities, theater rehearsals, and events organized by Harvard students.

Twenty-one Harvard juniors founded the organization in 1795 in Nymphas Hatch's dormitory room, creating what became the oldest collegiate social organization in the United States. Over the decades, the club evolved from a small dining group into an institution with its own building and regular events.

The name recalls a simple dish served at early meetings, when founders shared their modest resources over informal meals. Members still gather weekly to continue theatrical traditions that have connected students across generations.

Visitors can enter the building only during special events or with an invitation from a member, as this is a private organization. Most activities take place during the academic year, when students are on campus.

A windowless room called The Arena serves as a gathering spot for recreational activities and social interaction among members. The unusual name and enclosed atmosphere create a distinctive space within the clubhouse.
