Brent Spence Bridge, Double-deck cantilever bridge in Covington, United States

The Brent Spence Bridge spans the Ohio River with two levels, featuring four lanes on each deck connecting Kentucky and Ohio through Interstate 71 and 75.

Inaugurated on November 25, 1963, the bridge was named after Kentucky congressman Brent Spence, who served in the U.S. Congress for three decades.

The bridge represents a major transportation link between the northern and southern United States, connecting the industrial centers of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The bridge carries approximately 150,000 vehicles daily between Cincinnati and Covington, with the upper deck directing Kentucky-bound traffic and lower deck handling Ohio-bound vehicles.

A new companion bridge, scheduled to open in 2032, will be constructed west of the current structure to manage increasing traffic demands.
