Belton Court, Historic mansion in Barrington, United States
The mansion extends over 55,000 square feet, featuring medieval architectural elements and a crenellated tower within its U-shaped layout.
Frederick Stanhope Peck commissioned the construction of Belton Court in 1905, naming it after his ancestral home in England.
The mansion housed an extensive collection of literary treasures, including first editions of Shakespeare and letters from Declaration of Independence signers.
The property transitioned from a private residence to institutional use in 1944, serving as a hospital before becoming part of Barrington College.
The estate operated as a self-sufficient complex with a working farm, livestock facilities, and greenhouses managed by full-time staff members.
