Camden Children's Garden, Educational garden in Camden, United States.
Camden Children's Garden is a four-acre space with different sections like a Dinosaur Garden, Storybook Gardens, a Tree House, and an interactive water spray area. Each section is designed to let children explore and learn about plants and animals while they play.
The project began in 1993 when a local garden group started the work with help from landscape architects, opening to the public in 1999. Its creation was part of an effort to bring the waterfront area back to life and add green space to the city.
The garden functions as a learning space where children discover plants and nature through hands-on exploration and play. Young people work in programs that teach job skills while connecting them to urban farming and community projects.
The site can be reached easily by water using the RiverLink Ferry from Philadelphia's Penn's Landing to the Camden waterfront across the Delaware River. Visitors should wear comfortable clothes and shoes since there is plenty of walking and climbing around the grounds.
The garden includes the Philadelphia Eagles Four Seasons Butterfly House where visitors can watch different butterfly species in their natural life cycles. This special area attracts species year-round and shows the transformation from egg to pupa to adult insect.
