Sanctuary of Christ of Jose

The Sanctuary of Christ of Jose is a pilgrimage site in Barcelona, Venezuela, featuring a distinctive metallic bronze dome above an open structure. The building has no enclosed walls and is surrounded by gardens and parking areas.

The sanctuary began as a private initiative in the early 1990s near the Cryogenic of Jose highway. Its notable Christ figure was erected in 1994 and has defined the site ever since.

Every November, Catholic processions led by the Bishop of Barcelona gather at the sanctuary, strengthening the religious bonds of the local community.

The site is easy to access and offers ample parking for both individual visitors and larger pilgrimage groups. Weekdays tend to be less crowded than weekends if you prefer a quieter experience.

The structure stands without conventional walls, allowing natural elements to flow through the sacred space while supporting a large metallic bronze dome.
