St. Astvatsatsin Monastery, 12th-century Armenian monastery in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan
The monastery complex included a domed basilica with eight windows in the cupola, supported by four cruciform pillars and featured a bell tower.
Built in the 12th century, the monastery underwent renovations during the 16th and 17th centuries before its complete destruction in February 2000.
The monastery walls contained numerous khachkars dating from the 9th to 17th centuries and displayed Armenian inscriptions throughout its facades.
The monastery site was positioned on elevated ground approximately 3 kilometers south of Channab village in the Ordubad district.
An Armenian cemetery with 200 tombstones existed adjacent to the monastery until its documented destruction by satellite imagery in 2000.
