Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Dores

The Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Dores stands along the southwestern coast of Coloane Island, featuring traditional Portuguese architectural elements and white walls.

Constructed in 1928, the church building formerly contained sacred Christian relics, including remains of Catholic priests martyred in Nagasaki during 1597.

The church maintains regular Catholic services and religious ceremonies that bring together local Portuguese and Chinese communities throughout the calendar year.

Visitors can reach the church by taking bus routes 21, 21A, or 25 from central Macau to Coloane village and walking approximately 10 minutes.

The church building previously housed a bone from Saint Francis Xavier's arm, which has since been transferred to Saint Joseph's Church in Macau.
