Seac Pai Van Park, Public park in Coloane, Macau, China
Seac Pai Van Park is a public park on Coloane Island that spreads across more than 20 hectares with botanical gardens, walking paths, and open recreational spaces within a protected natural area. The layout combines planted gardens with open grassland and wooded sections for walking and resting.
The site began as farmland before being developed into Macau's first multipurpose country park, which opened to the public in 1985. This transformation shifted the island's land use from agricultural production to public recreation.
The Museum of Nature and Agriculture displays authentic farming tools and models that show how people lived and worked on these lands long ago. Through these objects, you see how agriculture shaped life on the island.
The park opens daily from 8 AM to 6 PM and is accessible by several public bus routes. Morning visits tend to be quieter, making it easier to enjoy the gardens and walking paths without crowds.
The park houses a pavilion with two giant pandas donated by the Chinese government, along with ostriches and tarsier monkeys living in specialized enclosures. Few visitors realize that this collection represents one of Macau's main animal attractions.
