Osnabrück Botanical Garden is situated on the grounds of two former limestone quarries and spans about 8 hectares. The space contains numerous plant species in outdoor beds and under glass, including tropical varieties housed in a large greenhouse.
The garden was established in 1984 and occupies land that previously served as a shell limestone quarry. This industrial past was transformed into an educational facility for Osnabrück University.
