Murrmirnichtviel Lodge, Hunting lodge ruins in Palatinate Forest, Germany.
Murrmirnichtviel Lodge are the ruins of a hunting lodge with preserved stone walls and a tower base, located within the forest landscape southwest of Bad Dürkheim in the Palatinate. The remains reveal the former residential building and its characteristic construction from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Count Johann Friedrich von Leiningen built a watchtower between 1661 and 1722 to monitor the boundaries between his hunting territories and the Electoral Palatinate. Over time, the structure transformed into a Baroque-style hunting lodge.
The structure displays Baroque features and reflects the tastes of 18th-century nobility. Visitors can still see the characteristic architecture that reveals the social standing and hunting traditions of that era.
The ruins are accessible via hiking trails through the Palatinate Forest and suit walking tours. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and allow extra time, as the site lies away from main paths.
The name Murrmirnichtviel, which appeared on maps in 1797, was a symbolic warning against trespassers who entered the hunting grounds without permission. This unusual naming reveals how seriously hunting rights were protected.
