Industriens Hus, Office building in Vesterbro, Denmark.
Industriens Hus is an eight-story office building in Vesterbro with a modern glass facade composed of roughly 3,300 diamond-shaped panels, located opposite Copenhagen City Hall. The building houses offices, conference rooms, exhibition spaces, shops, and a technology center showcasing sustainable solutions.
The building originated in 1872 as the headquarters of the Association of Industrial Enterprises. It underwent complete reconstruction in the 1970s under architect Erik Møller's design, gaining its contemporary appearance.
The building serves as headquarters for the Confederation of Danish Industry and is recognized by many Copenhagen residents as a symbol of Denmark as a modern industrial nation. Visitors can observe the connection between historical industrial heritage and contemporary economic importance at this location.
The building sits directly across from Copenhagen City Hall and is easily reached from Rådhuspladsen square. It offers access to exhibitions and shops open to visitors, with daytime being the ideal time to visit when the illuminated facade is fully visible.
The glass facade conceals a sophisticated lighting system with 80,000 LED diodes that changes color according to seasons and events. At night the building transforms into a glowing installation that defines the streetscape and glows in themed colors during celebrations.
