Temple of Kalabsha, Ancient Egyptian temple in New Kalabsha, Egypt

The temple measures 76 meters in length and 22 meters in width, featuring detailed stone reliefs and decorated column capitals throughout its structure.

Built around 30 BC during Emperor Augustus reign, the temple replaced an earlier sanctuary of Amenhotep II and later transformed into a Christian church.

The temple walls contain inscriptions in multiple languages, including Greek and Coptic, demonstrating the convergence of different civilizations at this religious site.

Visitors can access the temple by taking a motorboat across Lake Nasser, with regular departures available from the Aswan area throughout the day.

In 1971, one of the temple gates was given to Germany as recognition for their help in preserving Nubian monuments, now displayed in Berlin.
