Capilla de los Reyes Nuevos, Royal chapel in Toledo Cathedral, Spain
The chapel features a single nave with ribbed vaults, ornamental arches, and detailed stone carvings adorning the interior walls and ceiling structures.
Between 1531 and 1534, architect Alonso de Covarrubias designed this chapel as the burial place for the Trastámara dynasty monarchs of Castile.
The chapel contains renaissance style tombs of several Spanish monarchs, including Henry II, John I, Henry III, and their respective spouses.
The chapel opens from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:30 and on Sundays from 14:00 to 18:30, with access through the Clock Door.
The chapel houses the armor of standard-bearer Duarte de Almeida, who lost both arms during the 1476 Battle of Toro.
