Sarvaš, Settlement in Osijek-Baranja County, Croatia

Located east of Osijek, Sarvaš spans across 19.4 square kilometers of rural landscapes with a population density of 85 residents per square kilometer.

Archaeological excavations during the 1970s and 1980s uncovered evidence of Scordisci settlements from the late La Tène period in the Sarvaš region.

The Catholic church stands as a symbol of restoration, rebuilt in 2006 after its destruction during the Croatian War of Independence.

The settlement maintains administrative connections to Osijek, providing residents access to urban services while preserving its independent community character.

German-speaking Danube Swabians formed a substantial community of 1,157 people in 1931, marking a demographic period before their post-World War II departure.
