Little Princess Statue, Bronze sculpture on Danube Promenade, Budapest, Hungary.
The Little Princess Statue sits on the railing along the Danube River, wearing a robe and a pointed crown made of newsprint paper.
Hungarian sculptor László Marton created the initial 50-centimeter version in 1972, drawing inspiration from his daughter playing dress-up in the Tabán playground.
The statue represents childhood imagination through the figure of a young girl in costume, capturing a moment of pure childhood playfulness.
Visitors can find the sculpture near Vigadó Square, making it a convenient stop while walking between the Chain Bridge and Elizabeth Bridge.
The statue's knees developed a polished patina from countless touches by passersby who believe it brings good fortune.
