Museo di Storia Naturale
Museo di Storia Naturale, Natural history museum in Verona, Italy
The Museo di Storia Naturale occupies sixteen exhibition rooms within Palazzo Pompei, displaying collections of botany, geology, paleontology, archaeology, prehistory, and zoology.
Francesco Calzolari, a pharmacist from Piazza delle Erbe, established the initial collection of medicinal herbs that would evolve into the museum during the sixteenth century.
The museum holds extensive collections of vertebrate and invertebrate fossils that document the evolution of plants and animals throughout geological periods.
Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with tickets available for purchase through the official website museiverona.com.
The Zangheri Museum Room contains materials collected by naturalist Pietro Zangheri, presenting regional specimens from various scientific disciplines.
