Oratorio dell'Assunta, Italian Baroque oratory in Naples, Italy.

The Oratorio dell'Assunta is a Italian Baroque oratory in Naples featuring elaborate interior decoration from the 1500s and 1600s. The space contains valuable paintings, stucco work, and wall frescoes adorning the walls and vault surfaces.

This prayer house was established in 1590 when separate associations of artists and merchants merged into a single congregation. This union marked a turning point that created a gathering place for multiple professional communities.

The altar displays an Assumption painting by Fabrizio Santafede from the late 1500s, while walls and vaults feature frescoes by Giuseppe Funaro and Crescenzo Gamba from the 1700s. These works reflect how the space served as a gathering place for different professional groups over time.

Entry is through a door on the right side that leads to an exterior passage connecting to Palazzo Seripando. The location sits on Via Duomo in a busy neighborhood with accessible parking and public transportation nearby.

The ceiling displays an optical illusion fresco by Crescenzo Gamba that makes the space feel visually larger. This technique was advanced for the 1700s and demonstrates the artistic skill invested in this space.
