Founded by Professor Rihei Okada in November 1984, this institution preserves a collection dating back to the cultural prosperity of Itami during the Edo period.
The museum holds 3,500 haiku books and 7,500 original writings, including works from masters like Basho, Buson, and Onitsura spanning four centuries.
Located nine minutes from Itami Hankyu and JR stations, the museum offers membership benefits including program announcements, discounts, and annual bulletins.
The museum maintains one of the three largest collections of haiku poetry and painting worldwide, with materials accessible through microfilm viewing stations.
