Mount Hagitaro

Mount Hagitaro rises to 1,358 meters in elevation, forming a prominent peak within the mountainous region of Aichi Prefecture near the Nagano Prefecture border.

The mountain earned its position as one of the designated 130 Mountains in Aichi Prefecture, contributing to the development of regional hiking traditions.

Local mountaineers follow specific Japanese hiking protocols, including the practice of submitting climbing applications and greeting fellow hikers on the trails.

Visitors need to bring layers of clothing, sufficient water, and food supplies when hiking Mount Hagitaro, as weather conditions can change rapidly at higher elevations.

The summit area transforms each spring with 400,000 moss pink flowers covering 22,000 square meters, creating a natural display in various shades of pink, white, and purple.
