Toyone, Mountain village in Kitashitara district, Japan
The village extends across 155 square kilometers of northeastern Aichi Prefecture, featuring dense forests and mountain ranges reaching 1415 meters at Chausuyama peak.
The formation of modern Japanese municipalities in 1889 established Toyone village, which later merged with Tomiyama village in November 2005.
Local festivals in Toyone highlight agricultural traditions throughout seasons, connecting residents with centuries-old Japanese farming practices and mountain village customs.
National Route 151 provides road access to Toyone, while the village maintains one elementary school, one junior high school, and a branch of Sakuragaoka High School.
The Sakuma Dam reservoir and Shintoyone Dam within village boundaries generate hydroelectric power, supporting the regional energy infrastructure.
