驥山館, Calligraphy art museum in Shinonoi, Japan

The Kisan-kan Museum displays 357 calligraphy works, including 80 pieces by Kawamura Kisan, 72 by Akabane Unten, and 100 by Kosaka Kishi.

The museum opened on May 2, 1962, following the establishment of the Kisan-kan Foundation on April 12, 1961, in the Shinonoi district of Nagano.

The exhibition rooms contain works from the age of five by Kawamura Kisan, who studied Chinese classics and calligraphy before becoming independent at fifteen.

The museum opens from 10:00 to 16:30, with admission fees of 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for students, offering parking for 15 vehicles.

The building, designed by Toru Ozeki, spans 511 square meters and houses travel diaries documenting Kisan's journeys with sake stored in walking sticks.
