Meihan Ueno Drive-in was a large roadside complex located along National Route 25 in Iga City, featuring multiple dining areas and a two-story building. The facility included souvenir shops and parking space designed primarily for buses and trucks traveling between Nagoya and Osaka.
The drive-in opened in 1966 following completion of the Meihan Highway and served travelers for more than 50 years. It closed in March 2022 after becoming an established rest stop for through traffic between major urban areas.
The facility transformed into the Ninja Drive-in in 2012, incorporating local heritage through its mascot character and specialized Iga beef dishes.
The location was easily accessible from National Route 25 and provided ample parking for large vehicles. Visitors could use the facilities to rest and dine while traveling between cities.
The establishment processed 80,000 tour buses annually during its peak, offering specialized dining spaces on the second floor for group travelers.
