Kanagawa Prefectural Isehara Shooting Range, Recreational shooting facility in Isehara, Japan.
The Kanagawa Prefectural Isehara Shooting Range has two main sections: one for clay target shooting and one for rifle shooting, both located near the Tanzawa Mountains. The facility offers different shooting disciplines with modern equipment designed for both beginners and experienced marksmen.
The facility was relocated from Yokohama in 1972 and later renovated before the National Sports Festival in 1998. After a lengthy closure from 2002 to 2013, it reopened for public use.
The range reflects Japan's growing interest in shooting sports, offering visitors a chance to experience both traditional disciplines and competitive formats used by athletes. The facility serves as a gathering place for people who practice these sports throughout the year.
The best time to visit is during the opening season from April to September when conditions are most pleasant. Visitors should arrive dressed appropriately with closed-toe shoes to meet safety requirements.
In March 2019, electronic target systems were installed at all firing positions, replacing traditional paper targets and enabling more precise measurements. This upgrade made the facility one of the most technologically advanced in the region.
