Ren'ei-ji, Buddhist temple in Aoi-ku, Japan

The temple complex features traditional Japanese Buddhist architecture with a main hall relocated from a former subtemple in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture.

Founded in 1625 during the Kan'ei era by Buddhist monk Tenkai, the temple received support from the Tokugawa shogunate through land donations and financial contributions.

The temple maintains Yakushirurikō Nyorai, the Healing Buddha, as its primary object of devotion and religious practice.

The temple maintains an area for prayer services and welcomes visitors interested in exploring its religious and historical significance.

Ren'ei-ji houses a golden pagoda containing the preserved ashes of Indian independence figure Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose since September 1945.
