Baegyangsa

Baegyangsa is a Buddhist temple nestled among mountain slopes in South Jeolla Province, with multiple halls, pagodas, and stone lanterns arranged across its grounds. The structures display typical Korean Buddhist architecture with wooden elements and intricate details.

The temple was founded in 632 AD by monk Yeohwan during the Silla Dynasty. It suffered damage during Japanese invasions and the Korean War but was rebuilt multiple times afterward.

The name means White Sheep Temple, referring to an era when white sheep grazed on the mountain slopes nearby. This connection to the landscape gives the place its poetic name.
