Plaza Carso integrates museums, theaters, retail spaces, and residential towers across 48,090 square meters in the Miguel Hidalgo district of Mexico City.
The development opened in 2011 on former industrial land, transforming a Vitro glass factory site into a major urban renewal project in Mexico City.
The complex contains Museo Soumaya and Museo Jumex, displaying extensive collections of European art and contemporary works from the 15th to 20th centuries.
The facility provides six levels of underground parking and connects to multiple office towers through a central atrium with shopping areas.
Fernando Romero designed the development to reduce electrical consumption by 40 percent through advanced materials and collects 3,405,888 cubic meters of rainwater annually.
