Pasir Panjang

Pasir Panjang is a sandy beach on the southwestern shore of Penang Island stretching about 400 meters along the coast. Scattered rock outcrops run through the sand, creating natural formations across the waterfront.

This area began as a modest fishing village with traditional wooden houses along the coast. Over time it transitioned into the location of a military training center.

Local families spend their weekends swimming and fishing along this shore, making it a gathering place for everyday coastal life. People come here to enjoy leisure time and maintain a connection to the sea.

It is best to visit during the drier months when the beach is more accessible for swimming and walking. You will need a private car to reach this spot, as there is no direct public transportation from nearby towns.

A watchtower built by the military training center behind the beach overlooks the entire coastline from its elevated position. This structure is visible from certain spots along the shore and marks the area's transition from fishing village to modern facility.
