Huaca Santa Catalina, Pre-Hispanic archaeological site in La Victoria, Peru
The archaeological complex contains adobe structures and ancient walls that demonstrate construction methods from pre-Columbian civilizations in the Rimac Valley region.
During the Late Intermediate Period between 1000 and 1470 AD, this location functioned as a ceremonial center for the Ichma culture before Inca occupation.
Archaeological excavations at the site have uncovered numerous artifacts including pottery, textiles, and tools that reflect daily activities of ancient Peruvian societies.
Located at Jiron Pascual Saco Oliveros 875, the site provides guided tours with multilingual information centers to explain the architectural features and findings.
The complex represents one of the remaining segments of Qhapaq Ñan, the extensive Inca road network, preserved within Lima's urban environment.
