DOKP Skyscraper in Katowice

The DOKP Skyscraper is a 17-floor office building standing 90 meters tall, designed by architect Jerzy Gottfried in modern style. The structure with its distinctive form shaped Katowice's skyline for many years.

The building was constructed between 1965 and 1974 and served as headquarters for Polish State Railways for several decades. After the organization dissolved in 2015, the structure lost its original function.

The building served as the regional railway administration center and shaped how the city viewed itself as a transportation hub. Its presence reflected the importance of rail transport to Katowice's development.

The building is located in central Katowice and is easily reached from the city center. Visitors should note that the original structure is no longer accessible today as the site has been redeveloped.

The site was later redeveloped with the KTW complex, which features two modern towers reaching heights of 66 and 134 meters. This new development shows how the city area has transformed over the decades.
