Palatul Romanit, Art museum in Calea Victoriei, Bucharest, Romania.

Palatul Romanit is a building on Calea Victoriei that now houses an art museum displaying works from private collections. The structure features a symmetrical facade with classical ornamental details and underwent comprehensive restoration between 2009 and 2010.

The building was constructed in 1812 and belonged to Greek treasurer Romanit, who furnished it with luxury details. Writer Ion Ghica later documented the elaborate marble stucco walls and ornate ceilings that decorated the interior.

The palace houses art collections gathered by private donors, featuring works by Romanian painters from the 19th century. Visitors can see how wealthy owners of that period assembled and displayed their artistic tastes.

The palace is accessible from Calea Victoriei, one of Bucharest's main streets, and can be easily reached on foot. Allow time for a leisurely visit to examine the artworks and architectural details throughout the rooms.

The palace retains original pieces from its early furnishings, including Damascene silk curtains and fine Indian mats. These treasured objects demonstrate the wealth and global connections of its first owner.
