George Severeanu Museum

The museum was founded in 1956 and housed in a nineteenth-century residence that belonged to Doctor George Severeanu. He assembled this collection of ancient objects during his travels across Europe.

Among the objects is a marble portrait of Emperor Trajan, who conquered the region nearly two thousand years ago. The collection also includes coins from the time of Vlad the Impaler, connecting two crucial periods in the region's past.
