Madrasah of Çelebi Mehmet

The madrasah features a central courtyard surrounded by twenty student cells, constructed with rubble masonry and brick materials in Ottoman architectural style.

Built between 1414 and 1417 under Sultan Mehmed I, the educational institution served as a center for Islamic studies until 1844.

Distinguished scholars, including Feriduddin-i Divani and Seydi Semseddin Ahmed-i Kirimi, taught religious and scientific subjects within these historic walls.

The facility contains multiple exhibition spaces and gathering areas, accessible through the main entrance marked by a cylindrical clock tower from 1866.

The entrance iwan displays alternating dark red and light yellow stone patterns, incorporating architectural elements from both Ottoman and Mamluk traditions.
