Henry M. Sage Estate, Georgian Revival mansion in Menands, United States.

The Henry M. Sage Estate is a three-story limestone house with a grand columned portico in Menands. The property spreads across approximately 56 acres of landscaped grounds and still contains the original carriage barn and caretaker's cottage from when it was built.

The house was built in the 1890s and underwent major remodeling in 1920. This renovation brought significant changes to the original design and layout.

The house displays a blend of Colonial Revival and Georgian Revival design elements created by architect Marcus T. Reynolds. These architectural choices define how the building looks and stands out in its setting.

The property sits on expansive grounds outside the city center and is easier to reach by car. It helps to check ahead about access and visiting options since conditions and availability can change.

The property was once owned by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute before the institution transferred it to Albany International Corporation in 1973 due to rising maintenance costs. This change in ownership shaped how the estate was used in the later decades.
