The three-story limestone estate features a grand portico with four Ionic columns and spans across 56 acres of landscaped grounds.
Built in the 1890s and remodeled in 1920, the estate includes the original carriage barn and caretaker's cottage from its initial construction period.
Architect Marcus T. Reynolds combined Colonial Revival, Shingle Style, and Georgian Revival elements to create this significant architectural example.
The property transferred from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to Albany International Corporation in 1973 due to high maintenance expenses.
The estate earned National Register of Historic Places recognition in 1980 for its architectural design and historical relevance to New York State.
