The Mary Worthington Macomb House features two stories constructed from large sandstone blocks, situated near Paint Creek in southern Chillicothe, Ohio.
Following its completion in 1815, Thomas Worthington purchased the property for his daughter Mary and her husband David Macomb before they relocated to Florida in 1825.
The residence represents early American architecture and reflects the social dynamics of prominent Ohio families during the early nineteenth century settlement period.
The structure requires substantial renovation work, with restoration costs estimated at 500,000 dollars to preserve its historical features and structural integrity.
Despite the disappearance of surrounding industrial buildings from 1845, this sandstone house remains as one of the oldest standing structures in Chillicothe.
