Phipps Street Burying Ground
Phipps Street Burying Ground, Historic cemetery in Charlestown, Boston, United States.
Phipps Street Burying Ground spans 1.8 acres at the intersection of Phipps and Rutherford Streets, containing numerous gravestones from the seventeenth century.
Established in 1630 when Charlestown stood as an independent community, this burial ground became part of Boston during the nineteenth century expansion.
The cemetery displays regional gravestone carving styles developed by the Charlestown Carver in the 1660s and continued by the Lamson family.
