Sokol Auditorium

Sokol Auditorium is a music venue and community center in Little Bohemia, Omaha, located on South 13th Street with seating for approximately 1,500 people. The building combines a gymnasium with a balconied ballroom and has been fully renovated with contemporary lighting, updated restrooms, and enhanced bar facilities for concerts and private events.

The building was constructed in 1926 and served as a central gathering place for roughly 25 Czech Sokol lodges in the Omaha area. The Sokol movement emphasized both physical and intellectual development and played an important role in the social life of Czech-American communities across the country.

The space served as a gathering hub for Czech immigrants and their descendants who held dances, celebrations, and community events here over many decades. Today visitors can sense this heritage through the building's design and layout, which reflect the social traditions of the community that once thrived within these walls.

The venue is easy to reach and offers plenty of space for different types of events, from concerts to private celebrations. The renovated facilities are designed to accommodate large groups comfortably, with modern amenities throughout the space.

The venue hosted numerous performances by indie rock bands like Bright Eyes, Cursive, and The Faint in the late 1990s and 2000s, before these acts became widely known.
