Greyledge, Historic district in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States

The 245-acre estate features a symmetrical two-story brick main house with three distinct complexes: Greyledge, Gate House, and Creek House, near Purgatory Creek.

Built in 1842 by the Cartmill brothers for Ann Sisson, the property changed ownership through marriages until Edmund Cash Pechin acquired it in 1895.

The estate demonstrates the evolution of domestic architecture with its Greek Revival design and later additions, reflecting the social status of Virginia families.

Located one mile from Interstate 81 at 1200 feet elevation, the property includes multiple structures such as a garage, barn, and machinery shed.

The original bricks of the main house were manufactured on-site, with the front section built in Flemish bond and other sections in stretcher bond pattern.
