Wills Gymnasium, Indoor arena at Kent State University, United States
Wills Gymnasium contained multiple athletic facilities, including a main gym that accommodated 4000 spectators, an indoor pool, locker rooms, and a bowling alley.
The gymnasium opened on May 16, 1925, as the first dedicated sports facility on campus, serving as the primary venue for athletic teams until 1950.
The facility hosted numerous collegiate sports events, including basketball games, wrestling matches, gymnastics competitions, and volleyball tournaments for both men and women teams.
Following structural issues in the 1970s and Title IX implementation, the gymnasium closed in August 1979, with the site now functioning as a parking lot.
The construction site for Wills Gymnasium was originally Blackbird Lake, a swampy area situated behind the initial Administration Building.
