Shady Lake Park, Amusement park in Streetsboro, United States.
Shady Lake Park was an amusement park in Streetsboro featuring rides like a Wild Mouse roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and traditional carnival attractions spread across the grounds. The venue blended newer installations with vintage pieces, including antique automobiles on display.
The park opened in 1978 under the Humphrey family and incorporated several rides salvaged from the defunct Euclid Beach Park. It operated for only four years before closing in 1982.
During its four years of operation, Shady Lake Park provided entertainment for families in northeastern Ohio with traditional amusement park experiences.
The location today is occupied by residential apartments and banking facilities, making it difficult to visit the original site. Visitors interested in its history can reference Route 14 as the former location of the grounds.
The original entrance gate stood until 2004 and was a rare remnant of the park's physical presence. Its design echoed the style of Euclid Beach Park, serving as a long-standing landmark of the disappeared venue.
