Longstreet Farm, Historic farm in Holmdel Park, United States.
Longstreet Farm is a working farm with about 9 acres of agricultural land and a Federal-style farmhouse built between 1790 and 1810. The main house contains 14 rooms and is surrounded by traditional farm buildings from the 1890s period.
The farmhouse was built in the early years between 1790 and 1810 and remained under Longstreet family ownership for many generations. Monmouth County Park System acquired the property in 1967 and opened it to visitors as a preserved historic site.
Staff members in period clothing demonstrate traditional farming methods and domestic tasks as they were practiced in the 1800s. The daily activities show how families managed life and work on a farm during that era.
The property is open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, with extended hours during the summer months. The farmhouse interior can be visited on weekends from March through December.
The property continues to raise livestock and grow crops using techniques from the 1890s, allowing visitors to watch historical methods in practice. This is unusual because most historic farms today function only as museums without actual agricultural production.
