Holmdel Park

Holmdel Park is a large green space in New Jersey with two ponds and extensive trails for visitors of different abilities. The grounds feature tennis courts, playgrounds, and winter sports areas at different locations throughout the park.

The land became a public recreation area in 1962 and was later expanded through several major additions. Development of the park took place over decades as new sections were added to the grounds.

The property includes a working farm from the 1890s where visitors can observe how people lived and worked in earlier times. Staff members demonstrate old farming techniques and crafts that connect to the area's past.

The park is divided into separate sections, each with parking facilities and offering different activities. Visitors should plan ahead to determine which area matches their interests for the best experience.

The David C. Shaw Arboretum started with a small collection of trees and grew into a substantial display of diverse plant species. This section shows how landscapes can be intentionally cultivated and developed over time.
